That is when I saw a long haired pony astride the Jacob's ladder. I shouted for all I was worth, stumbling through the spray. I thought her a fool mare from below decks, gambling with her life. It wasn't till I was but a stones throw away that I saw her for what she was. The Mare of the Sea.

She was laughing and singing at the terrible sky like a mad filly. The terror struck me strong, and I was frozen to the deck, the whole ship listing as our own sails tore themselves asunder, but our dear captain would have none of it. She shouted, "Heck to the Mare, If she wants to ride we'll keep her high and dry till she roast like the other fish!" We toiled away to the fillies strange music, minding her only glances under the watchful captain's eye.
